NFC Juices
View product →Not-from-concentrate fruit and vegetable juices for beverage and food manufacturing programs. NFC juices are supplied at or near their natural single-strength concentration rather than being concentrated and later reconstituted, making them suitable for premium juice, chilled beverage, juice blend and other applications where natural juice character is important.
NFC, or not-from-concentrate, juice is produced without the concentration step used to manufacture juice concentrates. Because water is not intentionally removed and later restored as part of normal concentrate production, NFC products are generally purchased and formulated on a single-strength basis.
Exact composition varies naturally by fruit or vegetable, variety, origin, crop maturity, season and processing method. Parameters such as soluble solids, acidity, pH, pulp, color and flavor should therefore be evaluated against the current specification for the product being purchased rather than assumed from generic category values.
Technical requirements differ considerably between citrus, berry, tropical, stone-fruit and vegetable juices. The parameters below are commonly reviewed by beverage developers, quality teams and ingredient buyers. Exact limits should always be confirmed on the current specification or certificate of analysis.
°Brix is commonly used to describe soluble-solids concentration. NFC juice generally reflects the natural-strength characteristics of the raw material, so values vary by fruit, variety, maturity, growing region and production lot.
pH and titratable acidity influence flavor balance, process design, microbiological stability and formulation. Citrus and many berry juices are naturally acidic, while vegetable juices may have substantially different acid profiles.
NFC products may be cloudy, pulpy, clarified or otherwise processed depending on the juice and intended use. Pulp percentage, suspended solids and cloud stability can influence mouthfeel, appearance and settling behavior.
Characteristic color, aroma, flavor and absence of objectionable sensory defects are important quality criteria. Natural agricultural variation should be expected between crops and production lots.
Depending on product and processing method, specifications may include limits or testing requirements for total aerobic count, yeast, mold, coliforms and other relevant microorganisms. Exact criteria are product-specific.
NFC juices may be pasteurized, aseptically packed, chilled, frozen or otherwise processed according to the product and supply program. Processing method influences storage, shelf life and plant handling.

View product →NFC juices can differ in processing method, packaging and storage requirements. Buyers should confirm these details together with the current technical specification before product qualification or commercial purchasing.
Certain NFC juices may be thermally processed and filled into aseptic packaging. Depending on the product and specification, this format may support ambient storage prior to opening. Confirm the applicable storage requirements for each program.
Some NFC programs are maintained under refrigerated conditions to support the intended quality and shelf-life profile. Chilled products require appropriate refrigerated storage and transportation.
Selected products may be supplied frozen and require a controlled frozen chain through transportation and storage. Buyers should allow for appropriate thawing and production preparation where applicable.
NFC juices may be supplied in drums, aseptic bags, totes, pails, cartons or other industrial formats depending on the ingredient and source. Net weight and pallet configuration should be confirmed before ordering.
NFC juice reflects natural agricultural raw material more directly than standardized concentrate systems. Seasonal variation can therefore be visible in color, sweetness, acidity and sensory profile.
Buyers may request current specifications, certificates of analysis, ingredient statements, allergen information, microbiological criteria, origin and available certification documentation for qualification.
NFC juices are widely evaluated for premium juice, chilled beverage, juice blend, sparkling beverage and specialty drink programs where manufacturers want single-strength fruit or vegetable juice character. Our application library connects formulation and procurement questions with relevant PFVN formats.
NFC juice is not a single standardized specification. Buyers should identify the analytical, sensory and handling requirements that are important to the finished product and production process.
NFC juice and juice concentrate can both serve industrial beverage and food applications, but they are different ingredient formats. Concentrate has a portion of its water removed during processing, while NFC juice is generally supplied at natural or single strength.
NFC may be preferred where single-strength juice identity and natural juice profile are important, while concentrate can offer advantages in freight efficiency, storage density and formulation flexibility. The appropriate choice depends on product design, plant capabilities and commercial requirements.
NFC juice originates from agricultural raw materials, so natural variation can occur in soluble solids, acidity, color, flavor and pulp characteristics. Variety, origin, crop conditions, maturity and processing method can all influence the finished ingredient.
For commercial qualification, use the current product specification and, where applicable, lot-specific certificate of analysis rather than relying on generic NFC values.
Include any required °Brix, acidity, pH, pulp, certification, packaging, storage or microbiological requirements so the inquiry can be reviewed against the appropriate supply program.
